Laser Cut Keychain: 31 Designs and Checks Before You Cut
A laser cut keychain is the smallest thing most laser owners make, and often the first one they sell. It takes a few minutes of machine time, a scrap of plywood and a metal ring. However, small does not mean easy. Thin bridges snap, tiny letters burn shut, and a ring hole in the wrong place makes the whole piece hang crooked.
Below are 31 real designs and bundles from makers on Creative Fabrica. They start with what keychain buyers ask for most often: dog name tags, funny quotes, leather and bag tags, and cute animals. After that come floral tags and bottle openers, engraved wooden tags, cut-out silhouettes, and charms for acrylic. For each one you will see what the maker lists, which files are in the download and what to check before you cut a batch.
Short answer
Choose a laser cut keychain by the material first and the picture second. For a personal gift, a dog name tag such as the Keychain Peeking Dog Laser Cut gives you a stated size and space for a name. If you like wood with a leather loop, take an engraved tag such as the Sunflower Laser Cut Keychain. Meanwhile, for a quick cut-out, pick a silhouette like the Gnome Laser Cut Keychain, which also states its size. If you work in acrylic, the Kawaii Dragon Laser Cut Keychain already has its ring hole. If you want many designs at once, the Mega Laser Cut Keychain Bundle names 3–5 mm materials. Finally, cut one sample before the batch.

Laser cut keychain: dog name tags
Dog tags with a name are the most personal keychain you can sell, because the picture is the breed and the name makes it one of a kind. Four sets follow, and each puts the name in a different place: on a bone, a heart or a plain tag.

Ultimate Dog Name Tag Keychain Bundle
Dogs peek over a bone that carries the name. In fact, the cover shows a whole grid of breeds in this layout, from a French bulldog to small terriers, each with NAME across the bone.
However, the listing text is the maker’s general note, so the number of breeds and the size are not given. The files are SVG, DXF, EPS, PDF and DWG, so open the zip and count the dogs before you promise a breed to a customer.

Laser Cut Dog Name Tag Keychain SVG Bundle
Eight dog name tags in one set: dog faces, a bone, a heart and a round tag. Each has a text area ready for a pet’s name, and the maker suggests wood or acrylic, pet ID tags and gifts.
Also, the bundle comes as SVG, DXF, EPS, AI, PDF and PNG and is marked friendly for commercial use. Cricut and Glowforge are named, so it suits a small pet-gift line at a fair.

Dog Breed Name Tag Keychain
A dog looks over a heart with “Name” engraved in it. Similarly, the cover shows a grid of breeds in the same heart layout.
In the zip you get SVG, PDF, EPS and DXF, and the maker names wood and acrylic. Beyond that, the listing text says little, so check the breed list and the heart size in the download first.

Keychain Peeking Dog Laser Cut
Twenty dog breeds hold a bone with a name on it, plus two personalised bones without a dog. What is more, each keychain is about 6 × 6.5 cm, and the maker even names the font used for the lettering.
Moreover, the files are AI, CDR, DXF, SVG and PDF. Because the size is given, you can plan a sheet straight away and swap the name on the bone for each order.
Laser cut keychain: funny quotes
Quote tags sell on the words, not the wood. Therefore, the engraving has to stay readable at keychain size, so test the smallest letter first.

Sarcastic Quotes Keychain Laser Cut Set
Sarcastic tags for tired adults: “Emotionally Exhausted”, “Mentally Still in Bed”, “Surviving Not Thriving” and “I Need Coffee Not Conversation” are among the phrases in the title, and the cover shows ten designs.
Here, red lines cut and black lines engrave. As a result, the listing’s SVG, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF bring the lettering ready for engraving.

Funny Quote Keychain Bundle
Witty quotes such as “I may be wrong but I doubt it” and “Hold on, let me overthink this”. Also, the tags are built with clean outlines and engraved lettering, and each shape already has its ring hole.
In addition, the maker names wood and acrylic and lists Glowforge, xTool, LightBurn, LaserGRBL, Cricut and Silhouette. The files are SVG, DXF, EPS, AI, PDF and DWG.
Laser cut keychain: leather, bag tags and initials
However, not every keychain is a flat piece of plywood. Here you get a leather strap that folds around a ring, boho tags that hang from a handbag with beads and a tassel, soft faux leather charms and a full alphabet of letters.

Leather Keychain Template
Leather key fob templates with a belt loop: nine designs, each with and without hole patterns. For example, the cover shows a strap about one inch wide folded around a ring and closed with a snap.
Besides the individual SVG and PNG files, you get a combined SVG, DXF and EPS, plus a two-page PDF scaled to an 8.5 × 11 inch sheet. The maker names Cricut, Silhouette and Glowforge.

Flower Bag Tags Laser Cut Bundle
Boho bag tags with cut-out flowers. In fact, the maker describes them as macrame keychains, floral wood bead hangers and holders for a tassel, so the wooden flower is only one part of the finished charm.
In total there are ten designs, each as SVG, EPS, transparent PNG, PDF and DXF. Also, the maker warns that LightBurn sometimes distorts SVG sizes and suggests the DXF instead.

Leather Bag Charm Laser Cut Bundle
Ten faux leather bag charms in a kawaii style, from the same shop as the single bag charm further down. Red lines cut and black lines engrave.
Each design comes as SVG, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF, so the set holds ten of each. Also, the maker offers other file types or PNG sizes on request.

Layered Alphabet Keychain Bundle
A full A to Z alphabet as double-layer keychain tags, 26 letters in all. Each letter is about 50–60 mm high, and the maker says the sizing can be changed.
Also, the maker names wood, acrylic and MDF and lists Glowforge, LightBurn, Cricut, xTool and OMTech. The files are SVG, AI, CDR and PDF, so there is no DXF in this set.
Laser cut keychain: cute animals
Animal charms are the easiest gift for a child, a teacher or a friend. Most of these are bundles, so one download fills a whole tray at a fair. In addition, the Christmas set suits the season right now.

Cute Animal Keychain Bundle
Fourteen cartoon animals: a puppy, a panda with bamboo, a kitten, a raccoon, a fox, an owl, a deer, a bear, a squirrel, a dog, a toucan, a bunny, a hedgehog and a turtle. The maker draws them in a kawaii style with layered details.
The set is meant for acrylic and wooden keychains, and also for printed craft projects. The files are SVG, AI, EPS, PDF, DXF and DWG.

Kawaii Animal Keychain Bundle
Fifteen kawaii animals, including a bubble-tea bear, a raccoon, a penguin, a koala, a fox, a sloth and a puppy. Each one has a clean cut outline with engraved details, so the face is burned in and the shape is cut out.
The maker names plywood, basswood, MDF and acrylic, and suggests a tassel or a split ring to finish each charm. However, the listing does not list the file formats, so check the zip first.

Christmas Animal Keychain Bundle
Eight Christmas characters in a kawaii style, among them a bunny in a Santa hat, a penguin in a scarf, a panda with a gift and a snowman. Each one has a cut outline and engraved details.
The maker suggests stocking stuffers, Secret Santa gifts and little tree ornaments, and names plywood, MDF, basswood and acrylic. However, the formats are not listed, so check the download before a holiday rush.

Highland Cow Keychain and Car Charm
Four Highland cow designs that work as a keychain or a car charm. The shaggy fringe over the eyes is the whole charm of this cow, so it needs a clean engrave.
The zip holds SVG, EPS, a transparent PNG, DXF and PDF, and the maker names wood and acrylic. Also, the same files can hang from a rear-view mirror.

Funny Bee Keychain Bundle
A bundle of cartoon bees from Laser Cut Creations, the maker of the dog name tag bundle above. The bees are drawn with big faces and wings, so they read well even at keychain size.
However, the listing text is the same general note as the dog set: SVG, DXF, EPS, PDF and DWG, with no count or size. Therefore, open the zip and check each bee before you plan a batch.

Flexible Animals Laser Cut Bundle
Articulated animals that bend: the maker calls them flexible keychains, cute bag charms, zipper pulls and a wooden toy for kids. The joints are cut into the body, so the animal moves on its ring.
There are ten designs, each as SVG, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF. Here, red lines cut and black lines engrave, so test one joint before you cut the whole set.

Laser Cut Dog Paw Print Keychain Set
A paw print cut through a round tag, in several variations. For material, the maker names wood, acrylic and metal, and both laser cutters and Cricut or Silhouette machines.
Also, the paths are closed and overlaps are united, so the files cut without extra edits. You get SVG, DXF, EPS, PDF, a 300 DPI PNG and AI.

Duck Keychain with Daisy Umbrella
A duck holding a daisy umbrella. The maker lists SVG, PDF, EPS and DXF, and names wood, acrylic and other laser materials.
Also, it is pitched for gifts, craft fairs and home or office decor, and the tags call it a cute animal keychain and a teacher gift. Size and thickness are not stated, so cut one before you make a set.
Laser cut keychain: floral tags and bottle openers
Two round tags with very different buyers. The first suits a quiet gift for a gardener, while the second is made for the grill and Father’s Day.

Floral Keychain Lasercut File Bundle
Round keychains with engraved flowers and herbs, in several variations. The maker describes the look as delicate and minimal, with fine botanical lines.
In addition, the tags suit wood or acrylic, and the files are SVG, DXF, EPS, AI, PDF and DWG. Because the lines are fine, run one engraving test first.

Beer Bottle Opener Keychain Laser Bundle
Keychains for the grill and the lake: the maker pitches them as bottle opener keychains for men, with fishing and grill themes and Father’s Day in mind. Red lines cut and black lines engrave.
There are ten designs, each as SVG, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF. The listing does not mention the metal opener insert, so buy the hardware first and check that it fits the opening in the file.
Laser cut keychain: engraved wooden tags
These four share one idea. In each, the outline is a simple tag, and the picture or the words are engraved on its face. Also, they come from the same maker’s series, so they look good side by side on a stand.

Sunflower Laser Cut Keychain
A rectangular tag with an engraved sunflower. The product photo shows it on a wooden blank with a leather loop and a metal ring, so it reads as a classic leather-and-wood key fob.
The download holds SVG for cutting, an AI CS6 file, EPS, a high-quality PNG, PDF and DXF. However, no size is given, so set the tag to the leather strap you plan to use.

Owl Laser Cut Keychain 2
Two owls sit on a branch inside the same tag shape as the sunflower. It comes from the same series, so the two make an easy pair for a fair table.
Also, the formats match the sunflower: SVG, AI CS6, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF. The owls are engraved, so test the feather lines on your wood before a full run.

Dog Quotes Laser Cut Keychain 11
A quote tag for dog people: “Life’s better with woofs”, framed by paw prints. Lettering is the whole design here, so the engraving has to stay sharp.
In addition, the files are SVG, AI CS6, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF. Since the words are small, cut one sample and read it at arm’s length.

Underwater Scene Laser Cut Keychain 3
An underwater scene cut through the top layer. The preview shows it over a solid backing, so the sea shapes appear as openings with wood behind them.
It comes as SVG, AI CS6, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF. As a result, plan two pieces per keychain, and glue them only after the dry fit.
Laser cut keychain: cut-out silhouettes
Here the outline is the design. Because there is no tag around the picture, the shape itself has to hold together. Therefore, look at the narrowest point of each one, since that is where it breaks.

Bear Laser Cut Keychain
A bear silhouette with a hole at the top for the ring. The maker’s photo shows it in light wood on a dark background, with the black version beside it.
In the zip you get a 300 DPI PNG on a transparent background, SVG, DXF, PDF and EPS. However, size is not given, so scale the bear first and keep the paws thick enough.

Cat Laser Cut Keychain
A sitting cat built from geometric facets. The lines between the facets are cut, so the cat looks like a small stained-glass frame.
The zip holds a 300 DPI PNG on a transparent background, SVG, DXF, EPS and PDF. Because thin bridges hold the facets together, do not shrink it far.

Gnome Laser Cut Keychain
A modern gnome with a tall hat and a long beard. The maker says it was laser-cut with a focus on efficiency and detail, and suits DIY projects, personal gifts or homemade decor.
It states its size: 2.3 × 2.5 inches, “roughly the size of a standard car key”. The files are PNG, SVG, DXF, PDF and EPS, for Cricut, Silhouette or any laser.

Fairy Laser Cut Keychain
A fairy with butterfly wings sitting among flowers. The wings carry most of the detail, and the hole for the ring is part of the hair.
The listing gives a size of 3 × 3 inches and the files are a 300 DPI PNG, SVG, DXF, PDF and EPS. At that size the wing veins are fine, so test them first.
Laser cut keychain: acrylic, faux leather and bundles
The last group moves away from plain plywood. One design is made for acrylic, one for faux leather, and one bundle gives you 22 designs in a single download.
Mega Laser Cut Keychain Bundle

A bundle of 22 key ring designs: floral hearts, owls, butterflies, sea turtles, landscapes, “Adventure Awaits” motifs, biker themes and quotes such as “Every Moment Matters”.
The maker names 3–5 mm plywood, walnut, cherry, MDF or acrylic, and Glowforge, xTool, LightBurn and other CO2 or diode lasers. Each design comes as SVG, AI, DXF, EPS, JPG and PNG at 300 DPI, plus a PDF guide to the set. The layouts leave room to engrave your own text on the back.

Kawaii Dragon Laser Cut Keychain
A kawaii dragon with big eyes, horns, scales and wing-like shapes, surrounded by tiny hearts and sparkles. The maker names acrylic, wood and other laser materials, and the keychain hole is already in the design.
LightBurn, Glowforge, xTool Creative Space, Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio are listed. The colours in the photos are for presentation only, and the mockups are not part of the download. The listing does not name the file formats, so open the zip before you plan the job.

Leather Bag Charm Laser Cut Keychain
A faux leather bag charm. The product photo shows a sunflower and a ladybug hanging from a pale blue handbag, each built from coloured layers.
Here, red lines cut and black lines engrave. In addition, the zip holds one SVG, EPS, PNG, PDF and DXF, and the maker offers other file types on request.
Laser cut keychain designs at a glance
Every row is a real file, and the formats and sizes come from the makers. When a listing says nothing about something, the table says so too.

How to choose a laser cut keychain file
Start with the person who will carry it. After all, a keychain lives in a pocket or on a bag, so it gets knocked about all day. For that reason, a chunky tag survives better, while a lacy fairy suits a bag or a mirror.
Tag or silhouette
An engraved tag keeps a solid border, so the picture can be as detailed as you like. A silhouette, on the other hand, has no border, and every thin part is also a weak part. As a result, if you sell to children or to people who carry heavy keys, choose a tag.
Wood, acrylic or faux leather
Most files here are line art, so they work in several materials. For example, the dragon names acrylic and wood, while the bag charm is made for faux leather. Meanwhile, the bundle lists plywood, walnut, cherry, MDF and acrylic. Our laser cut acrylic guide covers the checks for clear and coloured sheet, and wood laser engraving covers small marks on wood.
Read the file list
Almost every listing here names SVG and DXF, and most add EPS, PDF and PNG. A few add AI, CDR or DWG. However, the alphabet has no DXF, and the dragon and two kawaii bundles do not name formats at all. If your software needs DXF, check the zip before you plan a fair order.
Size, thickness and the ring hole
Only three single designs give a size: the peeking dog at about 6 × 6.5 cm, the gnome at 2.3 × 2.5 inches and the fairy at 3 × 3 inches. In addition, the alphabet letters are about 50–60 mm high, the 22-design bundle names 3–5 mm material, and the leather template comes scaled on a letter-size sheet. For the rest, you set the size yourself, so a few habits help.
First, measure a keychain you already own; most fit in a palm. Next, look at the hole for the ring. It needs wood all around it, otherwise the ring tears through. If the border looks thin, scale the whole design up a little rather than moving the hole.
Also, think about the ring before you cut. A split ring needs a hole big enough to turn it in. A lobster clasp or a leather loop needs a different gap. Buy the hardware first, then size the hole to it.
Engraving and small text
Several tags carry words: the sarcastic and funny quotes, the dog quote and every name tag. Yet small letters are where keychains fail. For instance, the inside of an “e” or an “a” can burn shut, and a thin stroke can disappear.
So run one engraving test on the same wood, and then read it from arm’s length. If a word blurs, scale the tag up or use a lighter engrave setting. Our guide to fonts for laser cutting and engraving explains which letter shapes hold up at small sizes.
Want a name on the back? The bundle maker says the layouts leave room for your own text. You can also make a name tag from scratch with our free name sign maker, then pair it with any of these fronts.
Selling laser cut keychains
Keychains are a classic impulse buy at a craft fair, because they are cheap to make, light to carry and easy to personalise. However, the price has to cover the ring, the time to sand and the packaging, not only the wood.
Use our laser cut pricing calculator to see how many fit on one sheet and what each one costs. For more ideas that sell, see laser cut projects that sell. If you also make earrings, the same small-part checks apply, and our laser cut earring ideas collect the designs.
For a key rack to hang them on, see three house-shaped key holders from one bundle.
Check these things before you cut
First, cut one sample of each design you plan to sell. After that, hang it on a real ring and shake it. A weak bridge shows itself in seconds.
Next, sand the edges of the sample. Keys rub against everything, so a sharp corner will catch on a pocket. Then check the engraving under daylight, not only under the laser lid.
Finally, write the size and the material on a note and keep it with the file. When an order comes back in December, you will cut the same keychain again without guessing.
FAQ
What file do I need for a laser cut keychain?
Most designs here come as SVG and DXF, often with EPS, PDF, PNG and AI. SVG suits most laser software, and DXF is the safe choice when sizes shift. The kawaii dragon does not name its formats, so check the download.
What thickness works for a keychain?
The bundle maker names 3–5 mm plywood, hardwood, MDF or acrylic. The other listings do not state a thickness. In practice, thicker material survives a pocket better, but it also needs a bigger ring hole.
Can I make a keychain from leather?
Yes. The bag charm in this list is made for faux leather, with red lines to cut and black lines to engrave. By contrast, the bundle and the dragon name wood and acrylic.
Are the colours in the photos part of the file?
No. The dragon maker says the colours are for presentation only and the mockups are not in the download. In the same way, the rings, loops and tassels in the photos are props, so you buy the hardware separately.
Which keychain designs state a size?
Only three do: the peeking dog at about 6 × 6.5 cm, the gnome at 2.3 × 2.5 inches and the fairy at 3 × 3 inches. In addition, the alphabet letters are about 50–60 mm high, and the 22-design bundle gives a thickness range of 3–5 mm. Otherwise, the size is up to you.
Can’t find the design you need?
Describe your idea in a few words and generate your own SVG design with AI.
