What you can cut from these files
Most designs here fall into three groups. First, flat single-layer pieces: door hangers, round signs, shelf sitters. In addition, they cut in one pass and need no glue. Because of that, they are the safe first project on a new machine. Second, layered designs. You stack two to six pieces, and the shadow between them reads from across the room. Third, boxes, lanterns and counter organisers. These join on tabs and slots. So the whole object comes off one sheet, and it goes back flat when you need the space.
Which material to start with
Almost every design here is drawn for 3 mm plywood. It is the cheapest material that still holds fine detail. However, thicker stock makes a sturdier lantern. Thinner stock cuts faster, but narrow parts get fragile: ears, stems, lettering. When a maker states a thickness, we repeat it in the notes. Otherwise, cut a test piece on an offcut first. In short, two minutes of testing saves a whole sheet.
Where these free laser cut SVG files come from
We pick the designs by hand on Creative Fabrica. There they come free with a subscription. Then we sort them into collections by season, by room and by type of object. Our guides go further and cover every design one by one, with the maker’s own notes on formats and bundle size. As a result, you know what a collection holds before you spend a sheet of plywood.
We add new designs every week, and the collections above grow with them.
