Questions about kids laser cut files

How do I download a file?

Press "Download" on a card. It opens the designer's page on Creative Fabrica. The download is free with Creative Fabrica's free trial; you need to add a payment card to start the trial.

Which machines can cut these files?

The designs are vector SVG files. They open in the software for Glowforge, xTool and other laser cutters. Cricut users can cut many of them from thin materials such as cardstock or thin basswood.

What material should I use?

3 mm (1/8 inch) plywood is the usual choice for signs, ornaments and decorations. Designs with slots are drawn for a specific sheet thickness, so check the designer's notes before cutting.

Can I change the size?

Flat signs and ornaments can be scaled freely. For designs that slot together, scale the whole file and make sure the slots still match the thickness of your plywood.
